A micronation is fundamentally a nation established by one person, with no global recognition. Micronations can be made for many reasons, the main few being dislike for the government the leader of a micronation lives under, for recreational purposes, to advocate for a specific cause, and for fun. Some micronations strive to make a better, and simpler version of how real world governments work, while Others run under an incredibly simple dictatorship or oligarchy. Curnon, despite being called an 'oligarchy', has a Parliament and elections. 

The term “micronation” is sometimes confused with the smallest European and Asian nations such as the Vatican City, San Marino, Singapore, and Liechtenstein. These countries are accurately called “microstates”, and should not be confused with Micronations.

A model UN works in a roughly similar way to many micronations, although te best example would be a Mock Government. The only difference between a Micronation and a Mock Government is the a Mock Government is based on an already, or pre-existing nation. Micronations on the other hand, are not solely based on any country.

Curnon is a micronation with an ideological foundation based on oligarchic principles, and a vision for equality. Founded by Asa Ward on New year's eve 2022,
Curnon asserts itself as a sovereign entity separate from any recognized nation-state, and of any micronation.
